The North Los Angeles County Transportation Coalition (NCTC) was first informally assembled in 1995 as a method of coordinating information and providing a forum for public discussion on regional transportation issues of mutual interest and concern amongst the Cities of Palmdale, Lancaster, Santa Clarita, and the unincorporated areas of North Los Angeles County, 5th District. The Cities and County collaborated on transportation issues, mobility programs,
initiatives and feasibility studies.
Recent legislative developments such as Measure M and SB1 gave the NCTC reason to formalize into a Joint Powers of Authority (JPA), to advocate for the return of tax-payer transportation dollars to the North County Subregion. The NCTC JPA was officially formed on Monday, May 14, 2018 and is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of the Member Jurisdictions which meet quarterly in a calendar year.
The NCTC provides a public forum for the Member Jurisdictions to coordinate regional transportation planning to build a safe efficient mobility network for the
North Los Angeles County region.
The NCTC Mission is to improve the movement of people and goods in the North Los Angeles County region thru the development of policies and strategies that directly lead to the implementation of transportation projects and programs that address critical transportation issues, promote economic development and maximize transportation funding opportunities for member jurisdictions.
